Bob's clients and acquaintances had already started asking him about Donald. In a light-hearted way, of course. They did not want to appear foolish. But their joking references were clearly to find out, What did Bob think?

He generally said something like this, "Jesus is not fulfilling people's needs. Christianity is getting old. So who's this? The new and improved Jesus? The dairy-free Jesus? Does this Jesus have antioxidants? Is that all that was missing?"

He generally thought something like this, "Donald is sloppy. His power is based solely on some fickle mood of the public. My power has been developed carefully over years, over the course of my entire life. The public doesn't even know me. They're led by their celebrities and politicians, the gods of modern times, disposable and interchangeable. But these gods are led by me."
